Congratulations to Della Gibson and Olivia Reffitt for qualifying for the State Championship Track Meet next week!
This is what they have been working for! But the work isn't done yet!
Additionally, on 5.12.26
The Hannan Girls and Boys track team participated in the Division IV class A Regional Track Meet at Herbert Hoover HS.
Della Gibson participated in the 100, 200, Shot, and Discus. She qualified to participate in the finals for each event and eventually earned 3rd place in each.
Olivia Reffitt participated in the 100, 200, and Long Jump. She qualified to participate in the finals for each event and eventually earned 6th place in each.
The girls combined to score 33 team points, outscoring much larger teams, like Calhoun County and Tolsia.
Jacob Chapman participated in the 100, 200, 400, and Long Jump. He earned 6th place in Long Jump.
Laken Canterbury participated in the 100, 200, and 400. He suffered a quad injury in his first event, which kept him from performing to his full ability in all events.
The WVSSAC takes the top 2, in most events from each Region. The WVSSAC then adds 8 more competitors for each event from each of the 4 Regions, based on best times and distances. Today we learned Della and Olivia are State Bound!
